About the role
As a Senior QA Engineer you will own test strategy and quality gates for the systems your team ships, and mentor the QA engineers and contract testers who work alongside you.
We are proponents of leveraging best-in-breed AI tools at every step of the engineering lifecycle — design, development, review, and testing. This requires a different engineering mindset: a lean team of senior, hands-on, AI-adept engineers, resulting in ultra-rapid iteration cycles and fast output. You will help drive this approach, from design through to production.
Beyond the features you personally test, you'll set the quality bar others work against — the gates, standards, and practices that let the team ship fast without shipping broken.

Responsibilities
Test strategy & architecture
Design and implement test strategies — planning, test case design, execution, and automation — that validate system quality end to end, not just individual features.
Go beyond black-box testing: understand software internals, debug issues directly, and build automated tests using the frameworks and tools that fit the problem.
Quality gates & shift-left
Define and own the quality gates code changes must pass before release, catching issues early enough that they're cheap to fix.
Contribute across design, development, deployment, and post-release — quality input starts before code is written, not after.
Automation
Build scalable, high-quality test automation that cuts operational overhead and speeds up release cycles.
Enable automation to run reliably across remote environments, mobile devices, and cloud platforms.
People & delivery
Lead, mentor, and guide QA team members, including managing contract testers, so delivery quality stays consistent across the team.
Establish quality metrics and best practices, and build the tools and processes that keep raising quality outcomes over time.
Collaboration
Partner with developers, product managers, and engineering leaders so testing effort stays aligned with product goals and customer expectations, not just feature specs.
Skills
AI-native engineering practice — Uses AI coding assistants fluently to accelerate test creation, automation maintenance, and root-cause debugging; treats agent output as something to steer and validate, not just accept.
API & automation — Strong hands-on experience with API testing and automation using RestAssured, Apache HttpClient, Unirest, or OkHttp, and mobile automation with Appium.
Framework engineering — Designs, builds, and scales automation frameworks across web, API, and mobile using open-source or commercial tools, applying design patterns (Factory, Builder) for maintainability and extensibility.
Performance & metrics — Defines and analyzes quality metrics to spot trends early; solid understanding of performance testing with tools like Apache JMeter, including environment setup.
Tooling — Fluent with TestRail for test management, Jira or Redmine for defect tracking, an IDE (IntelliJ, Eclipse, Visual Studio, Xcode), and log analysis via Kibana, New Relic, or similar. Comfortable with white-box testing and TDD.
Distributed & scalable testing — Runs automation frameworks reliably across remote environments, mobile devices, and cloud platforms.
Agile collaboration — Works effectively within Agile teams, driving high-quality, iterative delivery across the full product lifecycle.
Experience & Qualifications
5-8 years of proven experience as a QA Engineer, with a track record of mentoring QA team members and managing contract testers.
BTech in Computer Science or equivalent technical field.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working directly with developers, product managers, and engineering leadership.
