About Neo
AI is the most significant shift in how work gets done since the advent of the Internet — yet most organizations fail to capture its value. Neo is changing that.
Founded by Bhavin Turakhia — Co-Founder of Zeta, Radix, and Titan — Neo is building an integrated, AI-first suite of products that capture work, centralize context, and make AI a first-class participant in every workflow:
Tasket — A radically reimagined, AI-native, work management platform that centralizes context and makes AI delegation seamless for all work.
Friday — AI Assistant, co-worker and agent platform, pre-integrated into Tasket, Studio, Drive and 1000+ SaaS platforms.
Studio — AI-native suite for co-creating docs, spreadsheets and diagrams collaboratively with humans and agents.
Drive — AI-native repository, where humans and agents can co-work on files.
Scribe — AI assistant for meetings that goes beyond note-taking and actually does your work while on the call.
About the role
As an SDET you will own test strategy and automation for the features your team ships, working closely with engineers and product to keep quality high as the codebase moves fast.
We are proponents of leveraging best-in-breed AI tools at every step of the engineering lifecycle — design, development, review, and testing. This requires a different engineering mindset: a lean team of senior, hands-on, AI-adept engineers, resulting in ultra-rapid iteration cycles and fast output. You will work within this approach, from design through to production.
You'll define correctness criteria before code is written, build and extend the automation that catches regressions early, and be the person a feature team trusts to say "this is ready."
Job Location
Bangalore, India (100% on-site)
Responsibilities
Agent-leveraged QA
Use AI coding assistants to generate and maintain test scripts, document test cases, and speed up root-cause analysis when a test fails.
Verify AI-powered features directly — check expected model/agent behaviour, and flag edge cases or anomalies a generic test wouldn't catch.
Test strategy & coverage
Turn feature specs into concrete test plans and correctness criteria, in collaboration with the engineers building the feature.
Design test coverage for both functional behaviour and non-functional requirements — performance, reliability, edge cases.
Automation development
Write and maintain automated test scripts for UI and REST/API surfaces using tools like Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium, and Postman, TestNG, or RestAssured.
Extend Neo's existing UI and backend automation frameworks rather than building one-off scripts per feature.
CI/CD & quality gates
Integrate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) so regressions surface before merge, not after release.
Debug failures across distributed systems and work with the owning engineers to root-cause and resolve them.
Collaboration & reporting
Take part in daily stand-ups and Agile ceremonies, pushing for testable, well-scoped acceptance criteria.
Track and report defect metrics, test coverage, and release quality using tools like TestRail, Zephyr, or Jira.
Skills
AI-native engineering practice — Uses AI coding assistants (e.g. GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) fluently to generate test scripts, document coverage, and accelerate debugging — treats this as core to the job, not a shortcut.
Programming & test automation — Practical coding skills in Java and JavaScript/TypeScript; hands-on with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium for UI testing and Postman, TestNG, or RestAssured for API testing.
API & systems fundamentals — Solid grasp of microservices, RESTful architecture, and HTTP/HTTPS well enough to design meaningful test coverage around them, not just click through a UI.
CI/CD fluency — Comfortable running, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated tests inside pipelines like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
Quality process — Working knowledge of TestRail, Zephyr, or Jira for organizing, planning, and tracking test execution; familiar with testing ML/LLM-backed features specifically.
Experience & Qualifications
2+ years as an SDET, QA automation engineer, or equivalent technical testing role, with hands-on automation experience in Java or JavaScript/TypeScript across REST APIs and modern web applications.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
Equal Opportunity
